Undiksha discussed cooperation with Iwate University to help students improve their Japanese language skills (13/9/2019). Nakajima became the representative of Iwate University, which handled the internationalization programme. The collaboration between Iwate University and the Undiksha Japanese Language Education Study Programme has been going on for five years in social activities and environment preservation. In the future, Nakajima hopes that the collaboration will focus more on Japanese language education programmes, thus enabling Undiksha students to participate in the Japanese language education programme at Iwate University for three months. To strengthen this collaboration, Nakajima invited two Undiksha representatives to come and directly observe the condition of Iwate University.
Vice Rector I of Undiksha, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.TI., responded positively to this collaboration because it is considered capable of supporting the internationalization at home programme that has been launched in 2019. In addition, students who take part in this programme will have the opportunity to communicate directly with native speakers, learn languages and understand Japanese culture. Long before, two Undiksha students, Ni Nyoman Putri Noviyanthi and Ni Luh Eka Gitasari had already participated in a student exchange programme with Ohkagakuen University. Meanwhile, students Anak Agung Ayu Diah Padmadewi, Ida Ayu Widya Purwani, and Erina Dewanti Putri took part in an internship programme at the Vessel Hotel Sapporo, Hokkaido. Not only with universities in Japan, but Undiksha has also collaborated with universities in Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Taiwan in student exchanges and joint research.
